John C. Storm, whose death at Stewardson was briefly noticed in last week's Gazette was buried at Ash Grove Cemetery, Friday. Elder R. Layton conducted appropriate services. At the services the following obituary was read: John Carroll Storm was born in Ash Grove Twp., Shelby Co., IL, Feb. 1, 1833; died at Stewardson, IL, Dec. 4, 1907, aged 74y 10m 4d. In Feb 1851, he was united in marriage with Miss Mary M. McCully to which union were born four daughters, who survive him. In 1857 his wife died and, on Feb. 16, 1860, he was joined in marriage with Miss Nancy Jane Rankin. To this union were born four sons and eight daughters, three of whom preceded him to the better land. The survivors who mourn his death are his wife, thirteen children, thirty-six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, three half brothers and one half sister, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Early in life he united with the Church of Christ, in which faith he continued faithful to the close of life. - Windsor Gazette - Dec 1907
