ROBERT C RUFFING: 66; Greenville, died at 12:30 am today in Greenville Hosp after a 2 week illness. He was 66.
Mr. Ruffing was born 18 Sep 1906 in Transfer, to Joseph A & Rose Mehm Ruffing.
He was a member of St Michaels Catholic Church, Joseph Fitzmartin Council-1446, Knights of Columbus; Lodge-805 Eagles; Westinghouse Veterans Employees Assn.
Mr Ruffing was employed as a welder at Westinghouse Electric Corp for 27 years before his retirement in Apr 1971.
Surviving are his widow, the former Helen Radich whom he married 1 Jun 1946; 2 daughters: Carol Ann (sp-George N) Beil-Memphis TN; Kathleen (sp-Milford A) Hanna-StateCollege; 3 sis: Mrs.Ethel Cooper-Greenville; Dorothy (sp-John) Meier-Sharon; Rocelia (sp-Geo) Adams-Transfer; 2 bros: Albert-Transfer; Raymond-Stoneboro & 5 grandchildren. A bro-Joseph preceded him in death.
His first wife, the former Grace Bates, whom he wed on Dec 26, 1935, died on May 21, 1940. She was born Oct 6, 1905.
{Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at n St.Michael's Catholic Church, Greenville. Burial in St.Michael's Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Arthur Jordan Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday.
