Mrs. C. L. Modrell Dies at Age of 71
Mrs. Fannie E. Modrell, 71-year-old widow of C. L. Modrell, died this morning at Kansas City, Kansas. Mrs. Modrell had lived in the Garrettsburg community until going to Kansas several months ago. The body has been brought to Meierhoffer-Fleeman's for services.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Marie Bryson, St. Joseph; Mrs. Berton Vicks and Mrs. Louis Komer, both of Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. LeRoy Deatherage of Independence, Mo.; three sons, Emmett and Thomas Modrell, both living in California, and Ralph Modrell, Easton; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Burton, Gower, and Mrs. C. H. Taylor, Easton; three brothers, J. F. Barton, Agency and F. F. and C. A. Barton, both of Easton, and 15 grandchildren.

The body of Mrs. Fannie E. Modrell, who died yesterday morning, will be taken to the Ebenezer Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Saturday, for services at 2 p.m., the Rev. W. K. Swisher officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Marie Bryson, St. Joseph, Mrs. Berton Vick and Mrs. Louis Komer, Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. LeRoy Deatherage, Independence, Mo.; three sons, Emmett Modrell, North Hollywood, Cal., Thomas Modrell, Los Angeles, Cal., and Charles Modrell, Easton, Mo; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Burton, Gower, Mo. and Mrs. C. H. Taylor, Easton, Mo.; three brothers, J. F. Barton, Agency, Mo., and F. F. Barton and C. A. Barton, both of Easton, Mo., and 15 grandchildren. The body is at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman mortuary.

She was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church at St. Joseph, Mo., and the Ebenezer Christian Association. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Marie Bryson, St. Joseph, Mo.; Mrs. Esther Vick, 1608 Washington Avenue; Mrs. Evelyn Komer, 2796 North Early; Mrs. Fay Deatherage, Independence, Mo.; three sons, Emmett Modrell, North Hollywood, Calif.; Thomas Modrell, Los Angeles, Calif., Ralph Modrell, Easton, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Burton, Gower, Mo.; Mrs. Anna Taylor, Easton, Mo.; and three brothers, Frank Barton, Agency, Mo.; Forest Barton and Carrol Barton, Easton, Mo.The body was taken to the Butler funeral chapel pending arrangements.
