Pioneer Agency Woman
Dies After Long Illness

Gower, Mo,-- July 19----- Mrs. Susan Emily Atha, seventy years old, widow of William S. Atha, a well known farmer of the Agency community, died this afternoon at the home of a sister, Mrs. C. H. Taylor, at Easton, after a prolonged illness. Mrs. Atha was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Joseph.
Surviving Mrs. Atha are three other sisters, Mrs. Dora Burton, Gower; Mrs. C. L. Modrell, Easton; and Mrs. S. P. Robertson, Agency; four brothers, W. A., S. F. and C. A. Barton of Easton, and J. F. Barton, Russell Springs, Kan., and a foster son, H. B. Bryson, St. Joseph.
The body is at the H. A. Sullins mortuary here, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday. Burial will be in Frazier Cemetery, near Gower.
