She was d/o George Ernest Adams and Mary Elizabeth Barton and was born on February 11, 1920 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. She relocated to Navasota, Grimes County, Texas ca 1943 where she met/married Arthur Lyddleton Lott.

2nd wife of Arthur Lyddleton LOTT (thanks to FAG Volunteer: Brenda Crumley, we were able to locate her headstone and it is now posted too). The obituary did not state where the burial was (just where her memorial service was). Her husband, Arthur Lyddleton LOTT preceded her in death in 1972 and is buried next to her. Jane appparently was in her home town of Austin, Travis, Texas when she passed away in 2009. Arthur and Jane had at least two children (daughters) both born in Grimes County, Texas:

1) Mary (Mimi) Youens Lott: born June 23, 1945 who in 2009 when her mother passed away was married to Stephen S. Lee.
2) Emily Jane Lott: born August 25, 1947 who in 2009 when her mother passed away was married to Thomas H. Atkinson.

"Jane Elizabeth Adams Lott, died January 13, 2009. She was born in Austin, Texas, in 1920 to Mary Barton Adams and George E. Adams. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Bryan. All are welcome to attend.

Jane was raised in Bryan, Texas, along with her sisters, Hazel Adams Richardson and Emily Adams Lyne, and her brothers, George Barton Adams and John Charles Adams.

She attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia, and received her Bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University in 1941. She also completed two years of graduate studies in Voice at TCU.

Jane moved to Navasota in 1943 to work for the Civil Aeronautics Authority as a weather reporter to serve incoming air traffic.

She met and married Arthur Lyddleton Lott, a rancher and farmer of Navasota. Upon her marriage she transferred her church membership from First Christian Church of Bryan to the First Presbyterian Church of Navasota, where she was an Elder of the church, director and soloist of the choir, director of the youth choir and President of the Women of the Church.

She sang in many services and weddings around the state and taught the acolyte class for many years. Mrs. Lott was a versatile leader in Navasota. She joined the Navasota Music Study Club when she first moved to Navasota and performed as a singer for many of their programs.

She was President of the Club and brought many musicians to perform for audiences in Navasota. Jane Lott will be remembered for starting the Navasota Music Study Club Scholarship Fund. The fund was named after her in 2003. This award is granted to students upon graduation from high school to pursue their continued study of music.

Other notable accomplishments include: President of Navasota Garden Club, President of Navasota Civic Club, President of Campfire Girls Council, Director of Campfire Girls Summer Day Camp, and representative to the Campfire Girls Jubilee in New York City (1960).

She was also President of the Zuber Hadley chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and designed the flag used at their meetings. Mrs. Lott was also an accomplished cook, gardener and bird enthusiast. She worked with past Mayor Eugene Gibson to establish Navasota as a bird sanctuary.

Mrs. Lott was preceded in death by her loving husband, and her siblings Hazel, Emily, Barton and John.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws Mary (Mimi) Youens Lott and Steven Lee of McDonough, Georgia, and Emily Jane Lott and Thomas Atkinson of Austin, Texas, three grandsons, Robert Lott Parker, John Charles Parker and William Arthur Atkinson, two great grandchildren Benjamin Parker and Thomas Parker, and six nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank her niece Elizabeth Lyne Scott and Laura Cherry Purcell for their devotion and care for our mother while she was in the nursing home.
