08 Feb 1845 – 04 Nov 1903
The Newark Advocate, Wed., Nov. 11, 1903, pg. 7
Mildred Caroline Bradley was born Feb. 8, 1845, and died Nov. 4, 1903, aged fifty-eight years, eight months and twenty-six days. She was united in marriage to Jacob T. Brown, September 2, 1862. To this union were born twelve children, ten of whom are living, and were present at the funeral.
Two children preceded mother to the spirit land. Besides a sorrowing husband and children, she leaves two brothers, fours sisters, fourteen grandchildren and a large circle of friends to mourn a loss that can never be restored in this life. She joined the church in early life and lived a consistent Christian, always ready to encourage and lift up the weak, and to contribute to the welfare of the distressed and needy. Her acts of Christian charity were boundless. The last years of her life were years of affliction, yet she bore her suffering with Christian fortitude and died as she had lived, trusting in the hope of an everlasting life through the blood of a crucified Redeemer.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Carmel Church of which she was a member, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. By her request, Rev. C.M. Hagans, of Mt. Sterling Christian Church, conducted the services. Interment was made in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
