John Moore Ward was the son of Josiah & Mary Ann (Towle) Ward, husband of 1st) Alice A. (Willey) Ward and 2nd) Eva (Baird) Ward.

JOHN M. WARD - Prominent agriculturist owning two hundred and forty acres of fertile land in Limestone, Aroostook County, John M. Ward is one of the principal men of his community making his home in the village and conducting his acres in the production of general crops, and notably seed and table potatoes of good grade, which he sells in the local market. For a number of years he owned and operated a starch factory in Limestone successfully, and since 1907 has represented the American Agricultural Chemical Company as local agent. In all matters of civic progress Mr. Ward is interested, and in the majority of such enterprises is personally concerned. In public life he has for many years played an important part.

John M. Ward was born upon a farm which he now (1928) owns, February 17, 1865, son of Josiah and Mary Ann (Towle) Ward, his father being a native of China, Maine, and his mother of Gardiner, Josiah and his wife, Mary Ann Ward, came to this township in early age, and here lived the balance of their lives and died, greatly respected by all who knew them and mourned sincerely at their passing. Josiah Ward engaged wholeheartedly in matters pertaining to the village and this section of the county and was instrumental in the fulfillment of several most beneficial undertakings for public welfare.
