Ervin Mikula, 39, of 615 Park St., LaPorte, Ind., a former South Bend resident, died at 5 p.m. Monday in Chicago. Mr. Mikula, who moved to LaPorte nine years ago, was a former employee of the National Discount Corp. He was a graduate of the first graduating class of St. Hedwige High School in 1934. A veteran of WWII, he married Miss Frances Paszkiewicz in Maryland in 1939. In addition to his widow, Mr. Mikula is survived by three children, Mary Elizabeth, Danny and James; six sisters, Mrs. Josephine Nowak, Mrs. Cecilia Danilowicz, Mrs. Theresa Graves, Mrs. Tekla Bickel and Irene Hauteman, all of South Bend, and Mrs. Helen Burnside of Denver, Colo., and two brothers, Anthony of South Bend, and Floyd of Kansas City, Kan. Mr. Mikula was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.
Funeral services for Mr. Mikula will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, LaPorte, Ind. Burial will be in LaPorte Cemetery. Friends may call in the Haverstock Funeral Home.
