Ray Byerly Dies Suddenly Sunday
Ray E. Byerly, 66, a native of Adams County, died suddenly of a heart attack at 4:15 a.m. Sunday at his home, 324, Cherry Street, Bluffton.
He lived on a farm near Craigville for 42 years, and for the last three years had been employed at the Clinic Hospital in Bluffton.
Born in Adams County, he was a son of D. M. and Dora Husson-Byerly, and was married to Violet L. Neuenschwander Aug. 28, 1919.
Mr. Byerly was a member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two brothers, Dean Byerly of Decatur, and Lloyd Byerly of Monroe Route 1; and four sisters, Mrs. John Taylor of Pennville, Mrs. Charles Neuenschwander of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Homer Arnold of Decatur, and Mrs. William Schwartz of Fort Wayne. Two brothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Thoma Funeral Home in Bluffton, the Rev. John Mishler and the Rev. Donald Orr officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of the services.
