Funeral Services Held Yesterday for Robert Coutts

Mr. Robert Coutts passed away at his home, Sunday afternoon from a stroke. Mr. Coutts has been in poor health for quite a while.

He was born in Scotland, December 24, 1861, and came to America as a young man. He has lived in Issaquah for the last twenty years, having come here from Taylor.

Mr. Coutts is survived by his wife Margaret, four daughters and one son, Mrs. Margaret Johnson, Mrs. Nellie Treptow, Mrs. Jessie Cubbon and George Coutts, all of Seattle, and Mrs. Annie Watson of Oregon; he also leaves twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Community Church, Wednesday with Rev. J. S. Umberger in charge, interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Renton. J. W. Flintoft, Issaquah Funeral Home, director.

If Mr. Coutts had lived until June 7th, he and Mrs. Coutts would have celebrated their golden wedding.

Robert Coutts, son of George Coutts & Helen Dickson Coutts, was born in Morningside, Cambusnethan, Scotland. Robert married Margaret Webster on 7 Jun 1889 in Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland. They had 6 children; Margaret Webster Coutts, George Coutts, Jessie Stuart Coutts, Helen Dixon "Ellen" Coutts, Ann Adams Coutts & John W Coutts b. & d. 29 March 1909.

After coming to America they show up on the 1900 LaSalle, Lasalle, IL census and by 1910 are in Sherwood, King Co., WA. By 1920 & 1930 they are living in Issaquah, WA.
