Andrew was the youngest child in a family of 8 children. His brothers and sisters were: James McIntire (1830-), Elizabeth Sims McIntire-Adams (1833-1913), William D. McIntire (ca 1835-1901), Amanda McIntire (1837-1907), Mary W. McIntire-Adams (1840-1920), Melvina McIntire-Wyatt (1844-1909), and Alvira Jane McIntire-Bailey (1847-1910).
Early in the 1870's, Andrew married Sarah Viola Parsons, born in Indiana (1855-1938). Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Wilburn Parsons, born in Virginia (1826-1915), and Emily S. Nelson, born in Kentucky (1835-1863). They settled in Carlisle, Nicholas County, Kentucky, where Andrew was a dentist.
Andrew and Sarah had four children - three sons and one daughter: Dr. Wilburn Oliver McIntire (1876-1942), Dr. James Roy McIntire (1880-1914), and Elsa "Elsie" Clay McIntire-Metcalfe (1885-1968) and Thomas Julian McIntire (1891-1898).
Andrew died in Carlisle, Nicholas County, Kentucky, on September 3, 1920. Both he and his wife are buried in Carlisle Cemetery.
