Elizabeth Sims McIntire was born Mar 10, 1833, in Rowan County, Kentucky, the daughter of Nicholas McIntire (1802-1859) and Eliza D. Sims (1802-1892) both born in Kentucky.
Elizabeth had 3 brothers and 4 sisters: James McIntire (1830-), William D. McIntire (ca 1835-), Amanda McIntire (ca 1838-), Mary W. McIntire-Adams (1840-1920), Melvina McIntire-Wyatt (1844-1909), Alvira Jane McIntire-Bailey
(1847-1910), and Andrew L. McIntire (1850-1920).
According to the McIntire Family Bible, on December 1, 1858, Elizabeth married drygoods merchant John Adams, born in Kentucky (1820-1877), and they lived in Camargo, Montgomery County, Kentucky.
Elizabeth's younger brother Andrew McIntire lived with them in 1870. After Elizabeth's husband John died, she moved into her younger brother Andrew's household and lived with him until she died Dec 22, 1913, in Nicholas County, Kentucky.
Elizabeth never had children and never remarried. She died at the age of 80 and is buried in the Carlisle Cemetery, Nicholas County, Kentucky.
