HORSE FALLS; BOY KILLED
SON OF "DUTCH" MEYER
Had Lived With the Wilhelm Ebeling Family near Old Cincinnati School.

Walter Meyer, a 13 or 14 years old boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl w. "Dutch" Meyer of northeast of Seneca, was killed instantly this morning when a heavy work horse he was riding stumbled and fell upon him.

Walter had lived for some time with the Wilhelm Ebeling family near the Old Cincinnati school near the state line. The accident occurred at this place. Dr. Wm. Ketter, DuBois, was called immediately following the accident but death had been instantaneous.

NOTE: The farm where he lived and died was just east of Old Cincinnati, Nebr. The school he graduated from was at the end of the lane by this home.

HORSE STUMBLES, BOY BREAKS NECK
Walter Meyer Killed in Fall From Horse. Made Home With Will Ebeling Family.

Walter Meyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Meyer, was instantly killed Monday morning just before dinner when the horse he was riding stumbled and fell, throwing the boy over his head, Walter fell on his head breaking his neck which resulted in death. Paul Andrews who was working in a near by field saw the accident and ran to his aid at once.

Dr. Ketter of DuBois was called immediately, but the boy was dead upon his arrival.

OBITUARY
Walter Carl W. Meyer was born April 26, 1922, near DuBois, Nebraska and died October 12, 1936 aged 14 years, 5 months and 16 days.

For a time his parents lived with Mrs. Sophia Ebeling at old Cincinnati, later moving to a farm near falls City, Nebr. and then to a farm near Seneca, Kansas. For the last five years he has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Ebeling, Jr. of DuBois, Nebr. where his death occurred. He attended public school at Old Cincinnati S.D. No 9, and was graduated from the 8th grade last spring. He was accidentally killed when the horse he was riding, stumbled and fell, throwing him over its head. His neck was broken and he died instantly.

Walter was a cheerful boy, a willing worker, and always thoughtful of others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him especially the Ebelings, to whom he was like a son.

He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Fred and Carl, Jr. and one sister, Mary Louise.

The services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Friedens Evangelical Church by rev. Schrupp, and Rev. Berner of Fairview. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
