Lancaster, May 11 - Mrs. Sarah Clyburn Williams, wife of Judge D.A. Williams. Lancaster's oldest and one of its most beloved women, died at their home in this city Sunday afternoon. She was in her 86th year and had been an invalid for a number of years.
Mrs. Williams was born February 25, 1841, and was a daughter of Lewis Clyburn and Sarah Kirkley of this county and came from a large line of distinguished ancestry. She was married to Judge Williams October 15, 1861, she and her husband being the oldest residence of Lancaster. A woman of high Christian spirit and noble ideals her life was a heritage to her family and her friends.
Surviving is her husband, Judge D.A. Williams, who is in his 89th year and the following children, T.Y. Williams, George W. Williams, W. Ben William, D. Reese Williams, Steve C. Williams of Lancaster; J. Oscar of New York; Mrs. T. M. Hughes of Lancaster and Mrs. R.A. Dobson of Gaffney.
Funeral services were concluded from the residence Monday afternoon by the Rev. J.S. Corpening, pastor of the First Baptist Church which she and her husband were the founders. Her six sons acted as pallbearers, interment taking place in West Side Cemetery.
