Ruthie Byrge, age 91, of the Beech Fork community, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, at her home. She was born June 27, 1918, in Campbell County to Calvin and Beth Annie Phillips Carroll.She was a member of Beech Fork Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly and loved to go ginseng hunting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bratcher Byrge; parents, Calvin and Beth Annie Carroll; four sisters; six brothers; three grandkids, Jimmy, Janice and Janet Byrge; three step-grandkids;three great-grandkids and one great-great-grandchild.

Survivors include her sons,Goldman and Deatte Byrge of Florida, Arnold and Barbara Byrge of Claxton, Milt and Rosie Byrge of Lake City, and Reddin and Phyllis Byrge of Beech Fork; daughters,Jane Seiber of Beech Fork, Bobbie Tackett of Lake City, Ada and Lester Marlow of Beech Fork, and Wilma Jean and Timbo Carson of Beech Fork; special daughter and caregiver, Josie Cross of Beech Fork; sisters, Inez Carroll of Devonia, and Monnie Bell Daugherty of Briceville; 23 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren; special nephews, Mitchell Seiber and Glen and Helen Carroll; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Beech Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Otis Phillips and the Rev. Don Daugherty officiating. She will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church Graveside services will follow at the Beech Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shawn, Larry, Johnny, Lester Junior, Keith, and Mitchell.Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruthie's Husband Bratcher is the son of Jasper (Joseph) Byrge b.5-30-1851 d.12/7/1940 and Jane Phillips Byrge b.9/25/1873 d.10/12/1948. Jasper and Jane were married 1/24/1893 Campbell County, Tennessee
