Guy was the son of Guy David Eakins and Martha Jane Doss.

Guy Emerson Eakins, born on August 25, 1938, in Ozark, Missouri, peacefully passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 85.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Eakins; daughter, Paula Chasteen and her husband Marty Chasteen; son, Guy (Mel) Eakins and his wife Laura Eakins; and son, Alan Eakins. He is also survived by his wife's son, Scott Thomason and his wife, Pam Thomason. Guy's legacy lives on through his two grandsons, Nate and Parker Eakins and his wife's grandchildren, Kimberly Lambert and Greg Thomason. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Heatherly; and brothers, Chuck, Tim, James, and Mark Eakins.
Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Martha Jane Eakins; sister, Mary Barcliff; and brothers, David, Steve, Galen, and John Eakins. He was also preceded by his mother and father-in-law, Myrtle and Oscar Bybee.

Guy loved to take his family and friends hunting and fishing. He especially liked trotlining and spoonbill snagging. He served in the Army and was proud to be a Freemason. He retired from Sweetheart Cup company in Springfield, Missouri, where he enjoyed serving as a union steward. Guy liked to work hard and would spend countless hours outside in his yard and planting flowers, which he loved.
As the oldest of eleven children.
