Mr. McCoy was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Stanley and was the son of the late John Wesley McCoy and Carrie Elizabeth Cubbage McCoy.
He was the owner and operator of McCoy's Store in Stanley for 58 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a son, Robert William McCoy of Shenandoah; a brother, James McCoy of Bristol; two sisters, Mary Stover and Cora Broy, both of Stanley, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pastor Bob Thomas will conduct the graveside funeral 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Hilliards Chapel Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be performed by VFW Comer Jones Post No. 621.
Friends may register at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray all day Friday and until 1 p.m. Saturday.
