Fern M. Nifong, 83, of Bremen, died April 28, 2010 at Bremen Healthcare Center. Fern was born May 19, 1926 in Bourbon, Indiana to Harvey and Ethel (Markley) Yarian. On June 3, 1944 she married Roger Nifong who survives.
Fern was a 1944 graduate of Bourbon High School. She was employed at 1st Source Bank for 27 years where she worked in the loan department. She was a member of the Bremen Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her husband Roger, a son Rex (Jacqueline) Nifong, Plymouth, and two daughters, Marcia (Michael) Hall, Elkhart, and Judy (Joel) DeSelm, Woodburn. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Lisa Reichard, Brian Nifong, Matt Hall, Mitch Hall, Marc Hall, Nathan DeSelm, Chris DeSelm, Andrew DeSelm and one great grand-child Isaac DeSelm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Earl Yarian and three sisters, Ruth Yarian, Willo Motz and Mary Grossman.

Services will be 10:30 am on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Bremen Church of the Brethren with Reverend Tom Hostetler officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, April 30, 2010 from 4-8 pm at Mishler Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be given the Bremen Church of the Brethren.
