DANIEL, Dora Rhodes, 9/28/1871-9/18/1904, dates on tombstone. Wife of George R. Daniel. The Gadsden Times Tues., Sept. 27, 1904 obituary: "Mrs. George Daniel, Smokeneck resident died Saturday, aged about 35 years, burial Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. She leaves a husband and five children. Her husband's brother-in-law is J.A. Amberson."

Research shows George's sister, Maude Daniel, married J.A. Amberson. Family records list Dora Rhodes as a daughter of Elijah T. and Edna Lavinia Jenkins Rhodes.

Etowah Co., AL Marriage Records list Dora Rhodes and George R. Daniel were married on August 12, 1894.

The 1900 census Gilberts Pct. in Etowah Co., AL for George, 30, and Dora, 23, - shows two stepdaughters of George: Essie, age 15, Nov. 1885, and Lura, age 12, Jan. 1888. Other research shows they were daughters of Dora. Essie died May 19, 1916, Birmingham, AL – the obituary shows Bessie Brown, wife of C.W. Brown. Other family records show Essie Worthington Daniel died May 1916 in Birmingham and burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham. She married Charles Wallace Brown and they had one son, C.W., Jr. Lura Fail's tombstone in Forrest Cemetery, Gadsden - born Jan. 1, 1885-died Nov. 13, 1964 (although the 1900 census shows she was born 1888, a younger sister to Essa.) Lura also carried the name Daniel and she married about 1929 a second wife to Alfred D. Fail. Lura had only step-children. Also, listed on the 1900 census with George and Dora Daniel: Art Daniel, born Jan. 1894, listed as a son of George, uncertain who his mother would be. His death record –birth Jan. 1893, if that is correct, he may have been Fannie's son, but that would make Seab's birth inaccurate, because Fannie could not have had Seab Oct. 1892 and Art in Jan. 1893???? Fannie's descendants say she died in late fall of 1893, so was he Fannie's child or not?
