MRS. JENNIE SENNER

Jennie, oldest child of Fredrick and Mary Venneberg, was born June 29, 1864 at Sheboygan, Wis. In April, 1878, came to Kansas with her parents who settled in the Bucks Grove community.
In 1883 she was united in marriage with George Senner. Their children are: Mrs. Laura Beach of Soldier; Mrs. Rosa Green of Whiting and George of Tacoma, Wash. Two daughters, Ella and Minnie preceded her in death.
In 1910 the family moved to Whiting, Kans., where her husband's death occurred in 1918. Since 1931 she has resided in Soldier, where she passed away June 14, 1937, at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Mrs. Senner had been a member of the M.E. church from girlhood and was active in the church work of every community in which she lived. Her cheerful disposition won the friendship of all, not only of older people but also of children for whom she performed many acts of kindness.
Besides her three children she leaves fifteen grandchildren, two great grand children, three brothers, E.H. Venneberg of Soldier, F.H. and A.E. Venneberg of Havensville and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Rairdon of Havensville and Mrs. Anna Kroth of Winfield.
The funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Soldier conducted by the pastor, Rev. Geo. Engel, assisted by the former pastor, Rev. Roy Sturgell of Wetmore. The music was given by a mixed quartet, composed of J.A. Sproul, Helen Sigg, Mildren Kling and Robert Markham. Esther Tolin, pianist.
The casket bearers were: Robert Love, George Thomas, Irvin Jepson, Virgil Burnett, Floyd Wood and Chas. Minner.
Burial was in Holton Cemetery.
