In 1909 Vera and her daughter Verna (on the passenger lists as Warma and Werna) immigrated thru Canada to America on board the passenger ship Virginian. A ship that in 1912 was one of several ships in wireless radio communication with RMS Titanic, giving iceberg warnings, and at one point false wireless messages had Virginian towing Titanic to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
