Mrs. Ethel Corya, 80, R.R.4, Greensburg, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital, after an illness of several months.

Mrs. Corya was born April 14, 1900 the daughter of Frank S. and Mary Elizabeth Pumphrey Alexander. she was married to Russell Corya, who survives, Aug. 25, 1920, in Decatur County.

She is also survived by two sons: Franklin Corya, R.R.3, Greensburg and Irven Corya, R.R.4, Greensburg; two brothers: Dennis Alexander, R.R.4, Greensburg and Paul Alexander, West Lafayette; two sisters: Mrs. Paul (Mazel) Bokelman, R.R.4 Greensburg and Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Cornell, Delphi; six grandchildren: John and Paul Corya, both of rural Greensburg; Mary Ann Tebbe, Brussels, Belgium, Marihelen Thole, Columbus, Teresa Ann Corya, R.R.4, Greensburg and Barbara Ann Hazlett of near Crawfordsville; nine great-grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Alexander.

Mrs. Corya was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg, the Lois Chapter No. 147 OES, and was a Past Worthy Matron of the Milford Chapter of OES; was a past president of the Give'N Take Garden Club and also served as a Gray Lady at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

She spent most of her life in Clay Township in Decatur County, except for a short time in Indianapolis. She was educated in the Clay Township Public Schools and also had musical instruction in Indianapolis in her early life.

The services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Charles Baxter officiating and with burial in the South Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
