Ensign T. B. Null, USNRF, was designated Naval Aviator (Lighter-Than-Air) #1260 in 1918. Accepted a USN commission following the World War.

Died from exposure on Lake Erie when his balloon was forced down during National Elimination Balloon Races.

Survived by his widow, the former Miss Ruth Neal Magoun.

Some early newspaper articles inaccurately reported the possible recovery of Lieutenant Null's body. However he was never found, despite a massive search effort. The attached newspaper article describes an individual much shorter than LT. Null, who was over six feet in height.
