Emmett Wayne Boaz, 83, of Vandalia, died at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Boaz Cemetery, south of Bluff City, with the Rev. Doug Wodtka officiating. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Overcup Baptist Church.
Mr. Boaz was born on July 5, 1926, in Ramsey, the son of John and Junie Timmons Boaz. He married Katherine Nichols in August 1945 in Vandalia.
He is survived by sons, Virgil Boaz of Vandalia and Bruce Boaz Sr. of Brownstown; and daughter, Gloria and her husband Bruce Hall of Vandalia.
