W. M. Ely, of Pinhook community, died Friday night at midnight, after a lingering illness and burial will be made at 2:30 Saturday at the Post Oak Cemetery.

Born Feb.5,1841 in Edwards Co., IL, Mr. Ely is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maria Ely, and ten children: George Ely, of IL., Mrs. Josie Nolan of Leonard, Mrs. Mary Bowerman of NM, Mrs. J.W. Thrasher, Mrs. G.H. Graves, Mrs. Sam Scott and Mrs. Rosa Ford, all of Paris, Mrs. Nora Smith of OK, Amis Ely of Morgansville and Roy Ely of Clarksville. He also leaves several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

from microfilm in Clarksville Library: 'We are sorry to say that the death angel visited in the home of Grandpa Elie and called him away at 12:30 o'clock Friday night. He was laid to rest in the Post Oak Cemetery Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.'


On the same stone with Maria Ely. Inscription on stone says 'Father.'
