He was a well driller in Dimmit County, Texas and as of 1914, he was a deputy sheriff in Pleasanton for many years. He He enlisted in the Texas Rangers in El Paso County, Texas. He joined the REGULAR RANGERS, September 24, 1917, as a private in Company C. He was promoted to Sergeant in Company E, Oct 1, 1918. Silas Bell died March 1934, in Maverick County, Texas
