Served in the Civil War, enlisted October 30, 1861, mustered into the 103rd, company F on December 7, 1861 at Camp Orr as private. PA archives show he was 16, 5'7", dark complexion, grey eyes, dark hair, farmer. He re-enlisted January 1, 1864 at Plymouth, NC and was captured at Plymouth, NC April 20, 1864 and died at Andersonville Prison, GA.
