Struck by an automobile after leaving church on Sunday evening, Barney Vandenberg, 117 Passaic avenue, Hawthorne, passed away yesterday at the Barnert hospital from injuries sustained.
The deceased, who was seventy nine years of age, had attended services at the Madison Avenue Christian Reformed church and was crossing the street when a car driven by Romano Napolitano of 150 East Main street, Ramsey struck him.
He was rushed to the hospital where his injuries consisted of a fracture of the skull and internal injuries.
Mr. Vandenberg was well-known throughout the borough of Hawthorne having lived there for the past twenty five years.
Surviving the deceased are four daughters and three sons.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday from his late residence at 2 o'clock and a half hour later from the Fourth Avenue Christian Reformed church.
Interment will take place in Fair Lawn cemetery.
