Mary Elizabeth Fairchild Baldwin was the wife of Samuel S. Baldwin, Pioneer Settler in Pesotum Township, Champaign County, Illinois. She was born November 4, 1816, the daughter of Joel Fairchild, Jr. and his wife, Olive Kenter, of Durham, Connecticut. She married Samuel S. Baldwin on October 16, 1839. Mary died December 28, 1877, at the family homestead.
