Jerome Smith Baldwin, aged 82, was survived by his daughters, Eva M. Baldwin Bowman and Ida M. Baldwin Cohen. Funeral Thursday at 2 p.m. from Chapel, 1116 Lake Street, Oak Park. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Hobbs Baldwin whom he married on October 19, 1865, in Davidson, Tennessee, and a son, George William Baldwin.
Jerome was the son of Samuel S. Baldwin and Mary Elizabeth Fairchild Baldwin. On 13 Aug 1862, Jerome enlisted in the Civil War with Company B, 88th Infantry Regiment Illinois. He was discharged on 28 Nov 1863.
