Mrs. Julia Lorraine Bundy , 75, of Harrisonburg, died Saturday morning, January 27, 2001, at Camelot Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Bundy was the daughter of the late Julia Hughes and Leo Howard, Sr. She was born on Nov. 9, 1925, in Harrisonburg. She served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946 as a Medical Technician. She lived the majority of her life in Harrisonburg and graduated from Lucy F. Simms School. She worked for the Rockingham Public Library and retired from First Union Bank and was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and the John Wesley United Methodist Women.
Julia was married to Rawley Carter Bundy , Sr., who preceded her in death. A son, Rawley Carter Bundy , Jr., also preceded her in death.
Surviving her are a son, Dennis M. Bundy of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Carmelita Bundy of Harrisonburg and Doris Allen of Huntington, WV; one brother, Ernest Howard of South Carolina; one brother-in-law, Weldon (Red) Bundy ; two sisters-in-law, Judieth Howard and Jerldine Howard; two daughters-in-law, Julia Ann Bundy and Marilyn Bundy ; three grandchildren, Tobias Bundy of Harrisonburg, Letisha Johnson of Hopewell, and Kisare Bundy of Elkton; and two step-grandchildren, Aimee and Jimel Jackson.
The Rev. Dr. Isaac S. Paul-Coker will conduct the funeral at eleven o'clock Wednesday morning at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Newtown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 Wednesday prior to the funeral service.
