DEATH OF THOMAS C. HIATT
Thomas Clarkson Hiatt, 84, died at his home in Spiceland, Sunday, September 25, following a long illness.
"Clark" as he was generally known, was one of a family of ten children, born to John and Rebecca Hiatt, pioneer residents of this community, and he was born and reared on the old homestead southwest of Spiceland. He was married October 28, 1886, to Miss Anna Lowry, of Knightstown, who survives him. Of the ten children, but three are now living, two brothers and one sister. The sister, Mrs. Martha Perry had devotedly and tenderly cared for her brother for the past year. The brothers are Eliphalet, of Hamilton county, and William, of Spiceland. There is also a large circle of nephews, nieces and other relatives.
The funeral took place from the home Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and the services were in charge of his nephew, the Rev. Albert Copeland, of Paoli, Indiana, assisted by Rev. Foxworthy, pastor of Spiceland Friends church.
