He was born Nov. 23, 1906, in Hornersville, son of Joseph Edward and Edith Fike Burk, Sr. He and Edith Mae Pride were married Nov. 25, 1933. She died Jan. 16, 1992.
Mr. Burk lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a retired farmer and member of Lulu Baptist Church in Hornersville.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Burk III and Coy Burk; two daughters, Iva Norris and Gleda Murray; two brothers, Herbert Burk and Ben Burk; three sisters, Freda Ferrell, Mary Branum and Betty Maxwell; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be in the McMikle Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
