FARRELL, FRIEDA BURK Frieda Burk Farrell passed away on Monday November 27, 2006 in Dallas, Texas at age 88. Frieda was born in Arbyrd, Missouri on December 26, 1917, the daughter of Edith and Joe Burk. She attended the University of Missouri prior to her marriage, and later attended Texas Tech University. She graduated from North Texas State University and did graduate work at the University of Dallas. A longtime Methodist, she was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Frieda was passionate about creative writing and was an active member of the Southwest Writers Group.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Marshall D. Farrell. She is survived by her son John of Houston and wife Sue; her daughter Kay Wilkinson of Las Colinas and husband Russ; her son Bob of Nashville and wife Jayne; grandchildren John Thrailkill and wife Jennifer; Kevin Farrell and wife Sarah; Dawn Farrell; Greg Thrailkill and wife Colette; Liz Hilcher and husband Lance; Rachel Goldstein and husband Josh; and great-grandchildren Isaac Murphy; Kahlil, Judah, and Zade Goldstein; Logan and Madison Hilcher; Ellen Thrailkill; and Eleanor Farrell. She was one of ten children; and she is also survived by her sisters Mary Branum & Betty Maxwell, both from Missouri. Following a private interment, a Memorial Service to celebrate Frieda's life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday the first of December 2006, at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Frieda B. Farrell to Crossroads Community Services, 1928 Ross Ave. Dallas, TX 75201; or to the charity of your choice. , Dignity Memorial Sparkman Hillcrest 7405 W. Northwest Hwy.
