Lorraine Regina Cooley, age 54, Wausau, a former Birnamwood resident, died Monday, May 23, 1977 at Wausau Hospital North.

She was born April 29, 1923 in Birnamwood, the daughter of the late Emil and Emma (Wetzel) Gast.

Survivors include two sons, James Cooley and Thomas Cooley, both of Fond du Lac; two daughters, Charlotte (Merlin) Erickson, Wisconsin Dells and Jill Cooley, at home; three brothers, Arthur Gast, Shawano, John (Jeanette) Gast, Wausau and Herbert Gast, Layton, Utah; four sisters, Carol (John) Wolf, Shawano, Frances (Arnold) Maas, Wisconsin Rapids, Elsie (William) Zerneke, Birnamwood and Ann (Irvin) Keldsen, Richfield, MN; and two grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by two sisters, Alvina Bell and Harriet Durland, two brothers, Fred, August "Jake".

Funeral services were held May 27, 1977 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. The Rev. Albert Olson and Rev. Kenneth Melby officiated. Interment was in Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood.
