Barbara Joy Creel Compton, 66, after a strong battle with emphysema, rested on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. until graveside service at 3 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Park, Denham Springs. The Rev. Merlin McConn will officiate. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rose and Paul Cagle, Bayou Pigeon, and Joy and Jimmy Duplessis, Denham Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Tina Compton, Bayou Pigeon; daughter-in-law, Donnie Compton, Watson; sister, Amy Siewert; three brothers, Jackie, Mike and Mickey Creel; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and the father of her children, Jimmy "Pete" Compton, Bayou Pigeon. She was preceded in death by her parents, McCoy and Minnie Noble Creel ; and son, Jimmy Compton Jr. She loved to sew and crochet. Her love was her family and her true heart was dedicated to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whether it was a make-believe trip to McDonald's or hours of playing Nintendo. The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the caregivers of The Right Way for their love and care shown to Barbara.
