Kenneth Michael "Mike" Creel, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017 at the age of 71. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Livingston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and has retired from a life in the construction field, which he began as a metal lather and was a member of the Wood Wire Metal Lathers Union until it merged with the Carpenter's Union. In younger years, he enjoyed cars, dirt bikes, four-wheelers and arrowhead hunting. He enjoyed playing the guitar with his brothers and knowing 10,000 facts that no one else was interested in (a running joke). He is preceded in death by his parents McCoy Edward, Sr. and Minnie Ellen Noble Creel; sister, Barbara Creel "Babs" Compton; and brother, McCoy Edward (Mickey) Creel II. Survived by his daughter, Sherri Lynn Creel Zaunbrecher and son-in-law Bryan; daughter, Jackie Creel Brecheen and son-in-law David; son, Kenneth Michael (Murphy) Creel, Jr; daughter, Sarah Creel; daughter, Angie Bennett Hector and son-in-law Chris; son, Laney Bennett and daughter-in-law Tricia; grandchildren; Daniel Huvall, Reagan Creel, Maci Creel, Chloe Nugent, Rachel Brecheen, Haley Brecheen, Austin Brecheen, Jessie Fisher, Gavin Guillory, Leigh-Anna Miller and husband Tim, Jacob Hector, Meagan Floyd, Shelby Floyd, Raeleigh Hector, Tyler Bennett, Taryn Bennett; great grandchildren: Hayden Huvall, Harlyn Huvall, Kaylee Huvall, Seth Creel, Lynex Creel, Audrey Miller; sister, Amy Creel Leteff and husband Kenny; brother, Jackson L. Creel, Sr. and wife Sarah; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chris Hector, Daniel Huval, Bryan Zaunbrecher, Jackie Creel, David Brecheen, Murphy Creel. Honorary bearers will be Scrap Avants, Kenny Leteff, Laney Bennett. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until service at 12:00 p.m. The service will be conducted by Chaplain Bruce Lininger. Burial will follow in Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary.
