Luzania Alice Carney was daughter of William Washington Woodall and Sarah FRENCH.

She was the third wife of William F. Carney, they married in Putnam Co. WV 11/16/1893, lived in Liberty, WV. Had a merchindise store there, next to their big house.

They had nine children, the first Gertie, died at birth. They moved to Charleston, WV. on the west side, about 1916. (Kanawha County).


HER OBITUTARY

Last rites for Mrs. W. F. Carney, 58 who died Wednesday at her home at 831 Walnut Street, (now called Stockton St.) will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Shepherd's Chapel Methodist church. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery at Dunbar, WV.

Surviving Mrs. Carney are her husband (William Franklin Carney), four daughters:(step daughter) Mrs. Owen Rawlings of Nitro and Mrs. Joseph Derrick,(Vella), Miss Dorothy Carney and Miss Ruth Carney, all of Charleston; Six sons Ivan,(stepson) Roy, Thaddeus, Milford and Willard Carney of Charleston, and Delbert Carney on Huntington, WV., two sisters Mrs. Cornelia Wood of Charleston and Mrs. David Stover of St. Albans, and two brothers, J. A. Woodall and R. B. Woodall of Poca.

The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 o'clock until time of the service. The Rev. Wirt Stepheas will have charge of the services.

Mrs. Carney was born May 21, 1874, near Rock Castle, Jackson Co. WV. She was the former Miss Luzania Woodall.

Active pallbearers will be Mack Burdett, Homer Raines, Delmar Jones, Raleigh Knapp, Howard Woodall and Burl Casto.

She raised two step children as her own, plus her own eight children.
