HENDERSON, Dec. 18 (Spl). Rev. Winfield S. Crawford, 65, a retired Baptist minister who served many West Texas churches during a period of 40 years, died in a Henderson hospital Tuesday.
He had lived in the Pleasant Hill community since last February. He was a native of Montague County.
Rev. Mr. Crawford had served churches at Paducah, Hedley, Wellington and Newlin. By coincidence he began and ended his ministry at Newlin, hometown of his wife, the former Lena Hansard.
Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors are his wife; four sons, Elder George B. Crawford and Moss Crawford of Pleasant Hill, W.S. Jr. of Henderson and Luther Crawford of the U.S. Navy at San Diego, Cal.; five daughters, Mmes. R.G. Spencer and Clifton Hunt of Henderson, M.L. Porter of Vernon, J.W. Lancaster of Wellington and M.V. Hartman of Lockney; four brothers, Elder L.J. Crawford of Shamrock, Ballard of Hollis, Okla., Tom of Fresno, Cal., and Joe Crawford of Chicago; two sisters, Mmes. Bob Collins of Childress and Myrtle Dean of Fresno, and 13 grandchildren.
