Born in La Junta, Colorado. Graduated from Park Elementary, Herren Jr. High School and La Junta High School. As a teenager, worked for "Bob's Potato Chips". Enlisted in the US Navy in October 1952, receiving an Honorable Discharge in October 1960.
He eventually owned and operated a service station in La Junta, a trucking company and lastly Holland Flying Service. He was an extremely good crop dusting pilot and private pilot.
He was a wonderful big brother and so much fun! He had his faults, as we all do, but I loved him dearly and miss him greatly.
