Jearl Dean McCombs, 74, passed from this life Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at his home in Tulsa. He was born December 27, 1935 in Logan County, AR the son of Clyde Ace and Martha Ellen (Luman) McCombs.
Jearl graduated from Scranton High School in AR. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean war. He was a retired maintenance worker for AAON and had lived in West Tulsa most of his adult life. Jearl liked to hunt and fish. He was a member of Carbondale Assembly of God Church. He married Carolyn Sue Quimby on January 21, 1956 in Tulsa.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Harold McCombs, Burl McCombs, and Kenneth McCombs; and sisters: Elewese Nixon, Anna Mae Askins, and Edna Leatherwood.
His survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn, of the home; daughter, Susan Faulkner of Tulsa; son, Mark McCombs and wife, Oksana of Tulsa; brothers, Bruce McCombs and wife, Mary of Bixby and Jerry McCombs and wife, Winnie of Arkansas; sisters, Selma Spicer of Arkansas and Brenda Hertlein of Arkansas; 6 grandchildren: Brandi Britto and husband, Damien, Tiffany Riddle and husband, Andy, Dustin Faulkner and wife, Christina, Mikayla Faulkner, David McCombs, and Jennifer McCombs; great grandchildren: Ben Faulkner, Elijah Snoddy, Drew Riddle, Cambrie Sroufe, Dee Dee Britto, and Gideon Britto.
A graveside service will be held 10 am, Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery with Rev. Phil Taylor officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available by visiting www.heathgriffithfuneralhome.com.
