A con-celebrated requiem mass for Joseph Lee Burnett, age 90, of St. Paul was offered at 10 a.m. today in St. Francis Catholic Church here.
Father Wilfrid Flanery, C.P. was principal celebrant and Father Robert Borger, C.P., was con-celebrant. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery.
Burnett, a native of St. Paul, lived and farmed in the St. Paul area until he retired, sold his farm and moved into St. Paul in 1950.
After moving into town, he carried mail until the mail train was discontinued. He also helped at the St. Paul Lumber Company, owned by a son, Bill.
Burnett was born on Oct 7, at St. Paul, to Virgil and Rebecca Daugherty Burnett, and attended the Bloomer rural school.
He and Dora H. Lero were married on Feb. 28, in St. Paul. She survives, at the home.
Burnett was a member of St. Francis Church and of Knights of Columbus Council 760 of St. Paul.
Among other survivors are two sons, William E. of St. Paul and Leroy M. of 309 N. 31s, Parsons; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene(Ollie) Stevens of Bella Vista, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Six brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
