Mrs. Burnett for many years lived in St. Paul where she was widely known, but was removed from her home to that of her son when she became ill several months ago.

She was a member of the Methodist church, of St. Paul.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon with services at her home here in St. Paul and interment was made in the South Mound cemetery.

Surviving children are Mrs. Cora Brogan, of St. Paul, KS, William, of St. Paul, KS, Jesse, of Broadview, NM, Tom, of Galesburg, KS, John, of Broadview, NM; and Lee, of St. Paul, KS; 27 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Rebecca Daugherty was born in Sullivan County, Indiana, on July 24, 1850, and departed this life at the home of her son near St. Paul, Kansas, on August 21, 1931, at the age of 81 years and 27 days.

She was married to Virgil Burnett on October 24, 1867. To this union was born ten children, seven boys and three girls. Her husband and four children preceded her in death.

She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in her girlhood days and when she came with her family to Kansas in the fall of 1878, she transferred her membership to the Mentor Church and later to the St. Paul Church. She was a faithful member of her church but was not privileged to attend the services in the recent months because of her illness which she bore in patience but from which she prayed to be released.

She was the last of her generation and leaves no other living relatives but will be missed by a multitude of friends.

The bereaved relatives have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in their sorrow.
