C. L. Turner, 87, died May 23, 1973 at the NMMC after a lengthy illness. A native of Lee County, he was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of West Main Street Church of Christ. He was married in 1923 to the former Bertha Sample. Services were held May 24 at McGrath-Rasberry Memorial Chapel with burial in the Priceville Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, other survivors included two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Joyce Wallace of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Betty Joe Kingsley of Monticello, Miss.; three sons, Elbert Turner of Verona, Calvin Turner of Tupelo and Charles Turner of San Antonio, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Ernest of Memphis; five brothers, Leonard, Preston, Benny and Bonnie Turner, all of Tupelo, and Delbert Turner of Mantachie; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
