Harry V. Rogers Jr., 81, of Terre Haute died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, in his residence. He was employed with Teamsters as a business agent for 20 years, retiring in 1986. He was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Terre Haute to Harry V. Rogers Sr., and Eva Bridwell Rogers. Survivors include his wife, Helen Shelton Rogers of Terre Haute, whom he married July 14, 1945; two sons, Larry Rogers of Cincinnati and Harry Rogers III and spouse, Jenine of Plainfield, Ill.; six grandchildren, David Rogers and spouse, Ruth Ann, of the United States Navy in Connecticut, Brian Rogers of Jacksonville, Fla., Staci Rogers of Riley, Brittney Choppi and Jordan and Ryan Rogers, all of Plainfield, Ill.; and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Sarah Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Betty Rogers and Frieda Loveless. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972 of Terre Haute, American Legion Riley Post and Elks Lodge 86. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Thursday in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25h St., beginning with military funeral honors provided by VFW Post 972 and followed by the Rev. Larry Scott. Visitation is 1 p.m. until services Thursday. The family suggests, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, 600 S. First St., Terre Haute, IN 47807. Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
