Bill Baker, a Vancouver High School graduate, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Southwest Washington Medical Center.

He was 76.

Mr. Baker was born May 17, 1927, in Vancouver.

He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and in the Air Force in the Korean War.

Mr. Baker worked for Bemis Bag for 40 years before retiring in 1988.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Pat, at home; one daughter, Sue Allworth of Vancouver; two sons, Greg and Joe, both of Vancouver; two brothers, Robert and James, both of Vancouver; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Baker had been a swim teacher and a Boy Scout leader. He and his wife had traveled extensively after he retired.

His life will be celebrated from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the home of his son Joe, 13119 N.W. 39th Ave.

Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
