Sophia Moret Kuyper was born in the Netherlands in the year 1831, she came to this country with her parents in 1847 and settled at Pella, Ia. where she married the following year to Mr. L. Moret; to this union seven children were born, of these only two are left to mourn her death, Mr. John Moret of Chandler, Minn., and William Moret of Boyden.
Her first husband died in 1902 and two years later she was married to Mr. Arie Kuyper, who also preceded her in death. She was a loving and kind mother, and one of Christian character, and at the time of her death she was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church. To her the struggle and burden bearing of earth are ended, and we confidently trust that like one who awakes from a troubled dream she has awakened to see life's endless morning break and knows herself at home with all the vast throng of loved ones missing from earth safely about her. She was a devoted mother and a true friend.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral follows: Mrs. John Moret and sons of Chandler, Minn., Mrs. Albert Synhorst of Woodstock, Minn., Peter Synhorst of Leighton, Iowa, Henry Vander Wilt of Sully, Iowa.
