The NewsStar: Mrs. Kirkham, a retired registered nurse...was a member of First Baptist Church of Sterlington. She graduated from St. Francis Sanitarium in 1945 and completed a BSN at Northwestern State College in 1962. She was employed at St. Francis Medical Center as Operating Room Supervisor and Director of Nursing
Services. Mrs. Kirkham was an active member of the ANA, LSNA, MDNA, and was appointed by the governor to the State Board of Nurse Examiners.Granny was a beautiful lady, ahead of her time. She was dedicated to her family, her career, and her Savior. She said she knew as a child God was real because of the flowers and birds she enjoyed. Granny taught us love is not just a word, it is a feeling
expressed in actions.
