Mrs. Edith Barnard Dies At Warsaw

Edith May Barnard passed away, Monday morning, April 14, 1941, at the home of her daughter in Warsaw, Illinois. She had been in failing health for the past year and slept peacefully away.

She was born May 22, 1867, in Sonora Township, the eldest of three children of Oliver and Lydia Fulton. She was married to Frank Barnard January 3, 1888, and made the Ferris community their home for forty years, her husband preceding her in death thirteen years ago. To this union were born eight daughters one son, one daughter having preceded them in death.

There are left to mourn her passing, eight children; Mona Lehman, Rockford, Elsa McCollum, Ferris, Maude Belleville, Peoria, Wilma Austin, Warsaw, Jessie Nichols, Bowne, Hazel Boyer, Burnside, Myrtle Kelly and Roy Barnard of Adrian. One sister Grace Fulton of Ferris, and a brother Ben Fulton of Los Angeles, Calif., also twenty-four grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

She was a loving wife and mother, her home and her children being her first consideration always.
Funeral services ere held at the Christian Church at Adrian, on Wednesday, April 16, at 2 P.M. Rev H.C. Heichel, pastor of the Ferris Christian church officiating. The pallbearers were six grandsons, Russell McCollom, Lowell McCollom, Vernon Boyer, Hubert Boyer, Oliver Lehman, Roy Nichols.

"in the Garden" and "Goodnight and Good Morning" were sung by the choir. Burial was in the Powellton Cemetery.
