Alfred Voland, 78, well known farmer and former town official, died Saturday afternoon at the farm near Louis Corners, now operated by his son, Elmer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Meiselwitz funeral home, Kiel, the Rev. E.L. Worthman officiating. Burial will be in the Rockville cemetery.
Mr. Voland was born in 1868 at Mequon, Ozaukee county and in 1882 moved to this county. He married Miss Mary Pickeruhn in 1891. He operated the Brooklyn tavern near Kiel for several months and then moved to a farm near Elkhart Lake until 1914, when he returned to Schleswig to operate farms near Louis Corners. He served on the Schleswig town board.
Mr. and Mrs. Voland observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1941.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Conrad of Russell, Sheboygan county, Mrs. Howard Prahl on the homestead farm and Mrs. Harry Klemme of Kiel; son, Elmer on the home farm; four brothers, William of Fond du Lac, Fred of Kiel, Oscar of Rochester, Minn., and Philip of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Philip Arnold of Kiel and Mrs. Carl Raquet of Schleswig; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
